Shaker Logistics welcomes Megan Fagnani to lead HR

As Shaker Logistics continues to grow, we are pleased to welcome Megan Fagnani in the newly established role of People & Staffing Manager. Megan joins the company March 22 and will be responsible for all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, compliance, professional development, and more.

“In a services business like ours, having the right team is critical for success,” said Jason Smith, President of Shaker Logistics. “We’ve been growing quickly and want to ensure that we’re adding employees that embody our values and have the skills and talents to help our company achieve its goals. Megan not only fits that profile herself, but we’re confident she’ll also be able to help us recruit and develop top-notch employees across our entire business,” he added.

Fagnani has a wealth of experience in human resources, including the logistics industry. She spent more than three years at CREST Logistics in Schenectady as a senior HR manager, where she developed a company-wide HR strategy for a major rail operator. Fagnani’s responsibilities at CREST included recruiting and hiring of warehouse workers, implementation of HR software systems, creation of compliance policies, and coaching and training of managers.

Most recently, Fagnani has served as a consultant at Pinnacle HR, a prominent provider of outsourced HR services in the Capital Region. Early in her career, she worked as an HR generalist for a managed care facility and for General Electric’s staffing contractor, YOH. She holds an SHRM-CP designation from the Society for Human Resource Management, a comprehensive competency- and exam-based certification indicating proficiency and experience in the field of human resources. Fagnani is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta.

“I’m very excited to join Shaker’s team, especially since the company is undergoing a period of intensive growth,” said Fagnani. “This is an exciting opportunity to build an HR function from the ground up.”

Recruiting DOT drivers and building a solid pipeline of qualified CDL driver candidates will be among Fagnani’s first actions at Shaker. She’ll also work with the executive leadership team to create an HR infrastructure for the company that identifies career paths and professional development opportunities for employees and creates opportunities to reinforce Shaker’s culture and values.

“We were so impressed with Megan’s extensive knowledge and experience in several key facets of human resources,” said Zach Pappas, chief operating officer. “Having someone of her caliber on our team will raise our game substantially when it comes to attracting, retaining, and developing our employees. We’re thrilled to have her join us.”
